When a pet you have had for 10+ years dies, what do you do with the body2007-11-25 12:30:26

My cat is almost 13 and when she dies, do I bury her in the yard, or put her in the trash. It doesn't seem right to just put her in the trash after all the love that she has given me.

Answers:

It's illegal to bury it in your yard and that's what many, many people do. Certainly not in the trash!

My cat was cremated and though I didn't get the ashes to put in an urn many people do that too. I have a small stone sculpture of a cat in my garden and I always think of that being my Spookie.

Bury the cat in the yard.
a pet cemetary?
Have her cremated and keep her ashes in a peaceful place.
You can Bury her on your property

or find a cemetery if you prefer.

You can cremate & keep the ashes in whatever you choose or dispose of them however you choose.

You can take her to a local Vet or animal shelter & ask they dispose her. They will charge a fee.

Dig a hole in your back yard. I think that pets should have a term limit of 2 years, then give them to someone else.
You can bury her in your yard. I think it's completely legal. If there is a pet cemetary in your yellow pages or more than 5, it could indicate that it's illegal to do that in your county or state.
burry the poor thing.. *crying*
We had our boxer cremated, he is a lovely wooden box with a paw print, his name and dates of birth and death on one side and lovely picture of him on the other side. he was my daughters pet, so he is sitting on a shelf in her room. They also have pet cemetarys too.
bury her or cremate her MY cat died just last night some jerk deliberately ran him over he is in a box waiting to be buried this morning..
Many people do buy their pets in the back yard. It is illegal to put the cat out in the trash .I would bury the cat in the yard.
dig a hole in the back yard and give the cat a burial
bury her in the yard. This is natural way to do since the beginning of time.
I had a cat for 14 years (she was older than that too I'm not quite sure how old now.) and we buried her by a pond.
