My cat uses her paws as if to drag the floor towards her food bowl. I think it means, 'I'll come back to this' but I'm not sure
Answers:It goes back to cats being hunters, they are simulating burying their food when they are finished with it so that no predators can steal it away!!

it means that she has eaten her fill but her instinct is telling her to bury and hide the food so nothing else eats it.
My cats do it when they finish eating it's like they are cleaning the area aroud it - I just have to teach them to use a hoover now!
I have seen my three cats do this many-a-time. It's just ancient instinct sinking in for a moment. Your cat is trying to bury it's food, for protection from other animals. Usually it'll stop quickly, realising that it can't bury it's meal, but either way, there isn't a thing to worry about! :)

I had the same assumption that you did. I figured that if it was in the wild they would be covering it up with dirt.

your cat is just doing the normal thing all cats do. Thanking you for dinner. She can't clap her paws so she rubs them on the carpet so you will notice her and ask us all what shes doing
she is tryin 2 cover it up so she can get it later,mine do it even when the dish is empty.
