How old are cats/kittens when they start to hunt and bring things back to the house?

Answers:

Kitten start there hunting skill almost as soon as they start yo move around, they practice by pouncing on each other, chasing tail and bits of fluff. They reach puberty at around 6months of age and this is when they generally start to hunt properly (some may be earlier some may be later). Some cats bring lots of catches home others (generally male cats) do not bring anything home at all. Reduce hunting by playing with your cat using dangly things and giving them plenty of exercise in the home. Also putting bells on collars (safety collars preferably) will help reduce the number of dead things you find.

kittens shouldn't be out at a young age. But cats instinctively start to hunt at a very young age.

they tend to already know that sort of stuff itz just their nature they copy others but are also born to know. anyways when ur cat does start to do this i know itz annoying but itz only their nature so dont shout at it too much make surehe/she has plenty of food tho this can help to stop it.

oh yeh n make sure tht ur kitten is taken 2 the vets 2 have a jab so it can go out side n stuff.

as early as 8-10 weeks. If the cats are allowed out. My cats are indoor cats but occasionally a mouse gets in and I get presented with a headless corpse. Oh good kitty!

My two indoor tabbys got adventurous after 2 years. They seemed to stare and study their surroundings, until they started venturing out of the fence

As soon as they start walking around they are learning to hunt, all their play is geared to learning to hunt and once they start going outside they are trying to hunt all the time. They start bringing things in once they have successfully hunted them!
