What can be done when she gets in heat, we have locked her in a cage and that helps(dont worry she is still taken care of in the cage). She also meows loudly, like she is yelling. Does it hurt when they are in heat? anything will help, thank you.

SPAYING is know to help a LOT!.

Call and make an appointment. You do not have to wait until they are out of heat!

Otherwise, you wait it out and then get her spayed ASAP! Some cats only give you a month or so and then they are back in again!

umm. id talk to your local vet about that one, ive never heard of being in heat hurting. maybe she dont like bein locked in a cage. they do have pet diapers for when cats and dogs are in heat. so she can walk around freely not gettin anything on your floor or furniture, but you gotta clean it regularly, or change it. like a baby =] good luck.

=[ dont spay her! thats horrible! what if she WANTS to have lil kittens?! how would u like it if youre parents didnt wanna deal with YOUR menstral cycle, or they didnt wanna have to give you the "talk" on erections? and they had YOU spayed or nuetered? -.- sorry. im just way against spaying/nuetering. its basically taking away their gift of giving life. AND SEX.

No I don't think it hurts them. I can only suggest if you know a way that calms her down normally try that. Pretty much you just have to wait it out.

It doesn't exactly 'hurt' when in heat BUT she is feeling a very strong desire that isn't getting fulfilled and so is driving her INSANE!!
