When to know, when to put my cat down
I think I have to put my 13 year old cat down. I'm 27 and got her when I was 14. She has been peeing and pooping all over the house for the past three months.
I called the vet and scheuled the appt. Should I have made it clear that it should be to put her down? My land lord came by the other day and FREAKED out by the smell---I shampoo the carpet almost daily.
I feel like I'm betraying her--she hasn't been the same for months she just lies around and looks out the window---Is it time? I cannot imagine life without her. High School, College. I just don't know what to do.
Whatever happends I can't keep her.
Answers:How is her quality of life? Judging by what you say she is not happy right now. The vet may be able to find something physical wrong with her that he can cure. Otherwise the most humane thing for you to do would be to help her out of her misery. I had to put a cat to sleep, and it was probably the hardest decision I ever had to make, but in the end it was what was best for her.
its always sad putting ur cat down. you should definetly talk to ur doctor about it. im so sorry.
It sounds like you provided a good life for your cat. Unfortunately, everyone who's a kitty mommy or daddy will have to face this eventually. If you feel your cat is suffering, then help her to die.
If only people showed this much compassion to our own.
You may not necessarily have to put her down; take her to the vet and see what's wrong with her first. She may have a completely correctable problem (worms, etc). She's listless because there is obviously something wrong. If it's something serious, you may have to consider putting her down but don't jump to that conclusion.
