Who else uses their cat as a trash can2007-11-25 12:30:53
I usually give my cat the parts of the chicken I don't like (butt, meat near the bone, etc) and well as not rotten but not perfect beef that I wouldn't eat myself either (hey they eat far worst in the wild). Now I'm not talking about maggots ridden or bad and I usually cook it first before giving it to the cat. But I figure this meat is probably better than what he's getting in his regular food. Anyone else do this?
Answers:i see nothing wrong with that.and yes it is better than feeding your cat dry food because dry has corn in it.
yeah.
they'll eat anything.
dont worry about it.
Hehe. I have a cat too. I give him all my leftovers. He sniffs it and walks away. Never eats it, sticks to his Friskies, so I wouldn't be able to tell you if it's healthy or not. I don't think it really would matter though.
you dont deserve to own an animal hopefully he runs away
No and I don't think you should. Cats are just like any other type of animal and need their own type of food.
Never really thought about it, actually. Hmm..I'll keep it in mind the next time we buy a rotisserie chicken and don't eat the drumsticks.
my cat and I used to have a ritual. I would get a whopper from burger king and be full with a quarter left. I would scrape the cheese off (better that than cat puke off the carpet) and feed him the rest. No wasted food and two full bellies. Also, if I drop some food I know that the cat will clean it up for me.
Don't think of him or her as a trash can but a way to recycle food.
Please stop. Cat food is specifically formulated to supply your cat with all the nutrients he/she needs. It contains ingredients like taurine which are essential for your kitty's health. An occasional snack of chicken or beef won't hurt, but please don't substitute your throwaways for food that actually benefits your cat.
I never feed my cats. I just keep stealing new ones when the old ones dissapear
An occassional treat is fine, but stick with a high quality, well-balanced cat food. Companies spend millions researching just the right formula..
Hi there.yes, most commercial grade cat food isn't all that good for our cats, however cooked table scraps isn't either for a few reasons. Foods that we cook and consume may contain flavoured spices such onion, garlic, salt, which are toxic to our cats.contributes to obesity. Even rinsed off they soak into the meat.
