Cats are very smart. You sit a dog out it will stand right there and starve to death. Were a cat will hunt for food. A cat doesn't live with you, you live with them. Now that's pretty smart.

My cats are a lot smarter than my dog. Just because an animal doesn't submit to you doesn't mean its stupid. I can't teach my cat tricks, but it still is smart enough to know I'm the alpha and if it does something that ticks me off it better steer clear or start sucking up.

If you look at a cats head then subtract eyes, teeth, skull, ears, etc, there is not a lot of room left for brains.

Frankly though, I had a few cats as a kid and I must agree - they're some of the dumbest animals on the planet. I think that's why the have 9 lives. Otherwise none of them would survive past cat-puberty.
