Why are some cat owners so catty2007-11-25 12:31:40

"You don't OWN a cat! You're it's GUARDIAN, and only if the cat chooses blah blah blah"

"Your cat goes OUTSIDE? I think you should be charged with cruelty to animals blah blah blah"

"You're thinking of getting your cat de-clawed just because you can't buy a 3rd set of furniture and the water bottle thing isn't working? How would you like YOUR fingers ripped off blah blah blah"

"Your cat is sneezing? And you're asking about it on-line instead of taking it to an emergency vet? Give it to a cat rescue because you're obviously too stupid and poverty-stricken to properly care for a cat blah blah blah"

"Kittens?!? Never mention kittens again when cats are dying in shelters blah blah blah"

And so on and on and on. Not just here, by any means.

There are good points to be made about those things, but why is it so hard for some people to be realistic? It's enough to make me feel weird about owning a cat, being in a demographic with such stridence.

personally i think that most cat owners are looking for attention and talk about their cats all the time to have a subject to talk about!

I SOOO agree with you-it's a pet so stop acting like it. i hate when people get mad and they go "raer" and make likea cat nise and once some on gt mad and i heard hEr hiss..WEIRD PEOPLE!Iown a cat but i never really mention it except when it comes up in a conversation.
