Why are some people so cruel and judgmental on here when it comes to old cats

I lost my beloved 16 year old Bobby on July 22 of this year. He had some health problems over the years. He had inflammatory bowel disease and changing his diet would improve his condition and when it stopped I took him to the vet for help. He gave him steroids that he would take and then he would get better again and then this happened a few times. Finally, in his last month he quit responding to steroids. This was in June. The vet advised me to have him put to sleep but he did this without even doing any blood work. I didn't think this was right considering it was only an educated guess. He said he probably had cancer in his stomach or instestines and that he was suffering from kidney failure. Well, I took him for a second opinion the following week. This vet ran blood tests on him and said that he was not suffering from kidney failure and that he didn't even think he had lymphoma. He said he was suffering from hyperthyroidism. It sounds to me that you did everything humanly possible, to make Bobby more comfortable in his last month. I know that you would be missing him a lot but you have other kitties to take care of and keep you busy.

I wish you all the best. When you are feeling down just sit down and think of all the good times you had with Bobby, and before you it you will be feeling a bit better. They say time heals all wounds, but loosing a loved one or pet is harder to get over.
