Why do I miss my cat who died 2 weeks ago, so much2007-11-25 12:31:16
can we feel grief for an animal, does it go away. My home feels so empty without the cat, he was much loved by me and my friends. he had cancer in his gums and was 17 years. I stayed with him while he was put to sleep and brought him home and buried him inthe garden in the place he liked.
Answers:I feel for you.. I know what a loss means and yes, they are part of the family and to miss them does not go away ever but the pain of their loss reduces over time but NEVER completely.. It is unfortuknate that our pets have such a short life span
its just emotional. its becasue your human and have feelings. there is nothing you can do apart from let time go past and in time you will feel better but you might totaly forget but time will help.
Of course it's natural to grieve for a pet. I've had my cat for 16 years. He's like my kid. It will crush me when I lose him.
I hope you feel better! I'm sorry.
Been there, done that. Of course you grieve for your best friend. You'd be heartless not to. Give it time. Just like with the loss of our human family, the pain eases with time.
Sorry for your loss.
No matter what anyone says animals are a part of your family. I had to my dog die about a month ago and it broke my heart I cried for like two days straight. It will get better I promise I still miss my dog but I'm not as upset as I was. Hope this helps
there is no difference between the grieving process of a pet and a human, i still miss my dog who got killed on the road 2 years ago, but it gets easier and you find yourself remembering the good times.
My cat died a few days she had cancer too but in away am glad because she is out of pain and a rest we buried her in the back garden and i know that she his OK now and the grief will go in time
It will go away, eventually. My dog ran away and i missed him and i was all depressed for a few weeks bc i had him for like two years and a half but then i just dealed with it. You're probably sad bc u got attached to the cat with it being your pet and showing u affection. dont worry you'll get over it. eventually.
Because he was as much a part of your family as a child. We grow to love our furry friends so much it's a genuine grief when they die. Be cheered by the fact you gave him 17 years good life and in the end although distressing you for, you did the right thing and not let him suffer any more.
The same thing happened to my grandparents cat. The cat and me grew up together and it had cancer in the gums too. We put him to sleep and I was petting him when they did, we took him to my grandparents house and buried him in the back yard in a little garden area.
