Hey ya'all why when I call my cat Zo茅 she comes running to me like as if she knows I am calling her I know this question is stupid but shes only 2months she cant figure out whos voice is whos SHE ONLY DOES THIS WITH ME BUT WHY??tHANKS搂搂搂

Of course she understands her name and when she is being called. She looks on you as her 'mother' so she comes to you when you call her. My three all know their names and simple commands and come when I call them. Those little kitties learn very quickly.

I'm kind of having a hard time understanding the question, but from what I can gather, you don't think your cat, at two months old, should know your voice from other peoples'? Why wouldn't she? Since animals can't understand English, they depend on the tones of our voices to determine what we're saying (or in what mood we're saying it in). It's not inconceivable that your kitten knows your voice already.

Cats here your voice and recognize it is you, next time call her with a different name and see if she comes. If she does then it is your voice. If she doesn't and u call her by her name and she comes, then she is a smart cat and knows her name.

Your kitty definitely recognizes your voice, and even the special tone you use when calling her. You probably talk to her in a different pitch then you use when you talk to humans, even if you don't realize it. She recognizes her name, and may come when others call her. But it isn't the same as when her "mommy" calls her. You're voice & tone have been "imprinted" in her brain since she was very small.

In the wild, leopards mothers have a special call they use only for their kittens. To humans, all leopard calls sound the same. But a leopard kitten can tell the special tone in their mother's voice from any other. Even when the leopard kitties grow up, if they ever hear their mother's call from far away, they will be able to differentiate it from any other Leopard. Congratulations, you are officially a "kitty mommy!"
