Why is my 6 month old kitten so scared
I have a 6 month old Bengal male. He is attached to me and never scared when I am around. When my boyfriend is around he gets very scared. He also gets scared when I have company.
Answers:generally, animals aren't scared of the people who feed them. however they are usually timid of humans because we stand so tall above them it's very intimidating. your kitten will get used to people the more it's around them. tell your man to get lower to the ground & lay his hands - palms down - on the floor. this shows that he is more equal & "safe" to be around. hopefully this makes since. i've been drinking. It is nervous because of new faces, it is very normal.
maybe you have a sweeter sounding voice. my cat is 16 and hides when people come over or have a deep voice.
Cats take a while to warm up to people - sure hope he warms up to your boyfriend soon!

Cats are very good judges of character, might be something wrong with the company you keep.
Did you have him since he was very little? If not, it could have the jitters from being mistreated somewhere (maube by a man). Socializing in cats begins at a very young age. Once that window of "socializing oportunity" passes, the cat has developed its personality based upon that.
He's ok.
Bengals still have a bit of that "wild streak" from what I've heard. And all cats get a little nervous around new people. Just make sure he's got a place to go where he'll feel safe..don't force him to stay out with people when he's nervous. This will cause him to lose trust in you, and he'll become even more withdrawn and untrusting. Just give him some time and plenty of space.
My cats are all very easy to get along with until company comes over, and they all revert to their feral roots. Just make sure everybody uses a calm, quiet voice at all times - NO SHOUTING! That scares the crap out of them. If the cat wishes to come around to investigate don't make a fuss, let him wander as he will. Ecourage your b/f to pet Fluffy if Fluffy seems so inclined, but to back off if Fluffy demonstrates a desire to move along. Cats usually bond with only one or two people, but seldom any more than that unless they're raised from kittenhood around the whole herd of people. Time & patience is the key.
Could be alot of noise of quick movements. Also, I heard that a kitten should not be allowed to roam the entire flat/house. It's too big an area for them to take in. You should restrict her/him to a room and then open up to larger parts of the flat/house.

Your boyfriend might mistreat him when you're not around, causing the cat to mistrust him, and others. If you're positive no one mistreats him, he may just be skittish by nature. One of my 4 cats is like this, just naturally scary.
It's probably just his personality. I have two cats, a male and a female. The female is very shy around anyone she doesn't know very well, but the male has to check out everyone when they step in the door. They're all different, just like people!
whn i bought my persian she was 6 months old. she was so scared of everyone but me. It took my kitty a few months to get used to other people. but trust me she'll come around..
Your kitten seems to get scared when around strangers.Try to slowly introduce your cat to your friends,you might even try letting them play with cat.But whatever you do DONT leave her alone with them immediatly it could cause a phobia.
he probably doesn't like men or doesn't like that man.. my cat used to be the same.. he would absolutely hate it when a certain man came to my house it was very odd
