Why is my 7 wks old kitten losing hair around his neck and look like it getting worse
my kitten is losing hair around his neck nad look like it spreading alittle past the neck to his back alittle. I know he has fleas i mean alot of fleas but that wouldnt cause a cat to lose hair would it?
Answers:Yes, fleas can cause hair loss. Get some Frontline or Advantage from the vet.
Also, flea collars, in addition to being pointless, cause hairloss.
Ringworm and other fungi can cause hair loss.

is it the flee collar or maybe rin worm.

flea collars are no good!! they can be very dangerous to a cat. they can hang them selfs with one. it needs to be treated by a vet using something like frontline or what they suggest. it will only get worse if not treated.

do you have a flea collar on him ? if so you need to get it off of him , most collars and sprays are for kittems 12 weeks or older . make sure that the skin is not broken around the area , if so clean it up then put a thin coat of neosporin to help heal. there is an all natural spray that can be used on kittens that young its called natures chemistry , should be able to find it at your local pet store
Yes, some cats are allergic to flea bites. I had to take my oldest cat to the vet because her fur was falling out it patches. Turns out she had fleas!! My kitties are indoor cats so I have no idea where the fleas came from. Everyone got advantage flea drops and I had to spray/ vacuum everything everywhere!
