Why is my kitten peeing on carpets2007-11-25 11:44:14

I have a 2 month old kitten, and I've had him since he was a month old (mother cat died when he was a week old). I did litter train him, he knows where is litter box is, and uses it all the time. I have started to notice however, that he is peeing more and more on beds and underneath my bed. This is just a problem with peeing, he does not poop anywhere in the house except for in the litter box.

I have also noticed that he only pees in beds if someone is sleeping on the bed, he can lay on a bed all day without even peeing on it, but at night when I'm trying to sleep is when he pees.

What should I do??

Some other pet has peed there previously. Clean the area really good with some non-color-removing bleach or cleaner, and then spray it with one of the chemicals that deter pets from peeing or spraying territory. Also, so not allow him in your bedroom when you are sleeping as this is becoming a territory issue of focus for him.

Is the litter box kept clean? Other than that maybe he's marking his territory. He's not to young to be neutered.

Oooooh. That's a tough one. Well, first off, you gotta rub his nose in it with a gentle reprimand, then go stick him in his litter box to let him know it is way not cool to pee on you! LOL!!

Anyway, you also need to clean your house big time! Get a big jug of vinegar. Fill a spray bottle with 2/3 water, 1/3 vinegar and squirt under your bed. Wash all your bed cloths, the lightly squirt the vinegar water on them. Not a lot, because you don't want to have dreams about pickles, but just enough for kitty to notice.
