Why is my new kitten doing this Please help2007-11-25 12:33:02

I got this new kitten. His a boy. He sleeps with me on his pillow. The only promblem is that when I try to sleep. He climes on me and sunks on my ear and bites it. Does he do this because he miss his mom? Or what . I get tired of it and I just keep takeing him off the bed . But he jumps up and does it agian. I also have a stuff teddy bear and he does the samething . What's wrong. Does he miss his mother?

Well,he is going to do that, and he probably does miss his mother and littermates, so you're the new "mom".

Get his some small stuffed, faux fur or fabric toys (catnip mice, etc.) that are a little closer to his size. Encourage him to play with them and keep them where he can find them at night.

You may also want to supply him with a small bed of his own, possibly even one with a heating pad wrapped in a towel and set to the lowest setting. He probably misses the warmth of his mother's body too.

Good luck with this; he is sure to adore you as his one and only owner, and when he gets a little older he will outgrow some of the pestering. How sweet -- I miss having kittens around.
