Why is my new kitten doing this Please help2007-11-25 12:33:02

He is doing this possibly because he is too young to be away from his mother, or he may just like to suckle. I have a friend who's cat does this and has done so since he was a kitten.

This is normal and he is doing it to you for more attention, go to you local pet store or vet and buy a nursing kit which has a bottle and several teats in it so that you can feed him, if he is too young to be away from his mother.

Could be he misses his mom, but probably he's bored and wants you to play with him or pay attention to him. He will eventually give up on you but it could take a long time, cats are mostly awake at night. If you can't deal anymore try locking him out of your room at night.

no he's being a kitten and being playful- play with him for a little while and wear him out then he should cuddle- Patience though

could be that he's trying to steal your breath.

I've seen kittens do this.and continue on through adult hood! He might not have been too young to leave his momma..but his momma might not have had the chance to wean him very well. Sounds like he was just "given away" before the weaning process was complete. He has a habit, much like a baby with a pacifier. Every time the kitten tries to suck on your eyebrow, eyelid, lip, neck, ear, etc.stop him! Don't allow it! Don't scold him, though. He's just using you as a comfort. He usually does that when he's sleepy, huh? just pet him &/or hold him, not allowing him to suckle. He needs to learn to sleep without suckling.and the only way is for you to force him to learn. Eventually, it will stop.

Don't worry, even if he doesn't quit, there isn't anything wrong with him, and you don't have anything to worry about.

I know its annoying, but keep on doing what you are doing. Take him off of you, say no, and put him on the floor. He will grow out of this. Mine did.
