Any change in behavior in a cat can be a sign of illness. The cat may hide an illness very well and can also become irritable with customary human attention because something is not right and she is confused and doesn't know how to deal with feeling bad.

So to me this is always the "light" going on that my cat needs to see a vet right away.

maybe miz ginger is getting ready to retire and wants her nice social security check and wants to pack her bags for a nursing home hons shes getting senile and saying look time too retire from here hons!

Is this a recent development? If so, have her checked out by a vet. If she's always been that way, has she had a past history of abuse or neglect? That has a great impact on a cat's personality.

if it's just started recently, it might be arthritis. but she still young(cats live for 18-20 years)might also be depression, or she sick. take her to the vet.
