I've owned dogs all my life. You couldn't give me a cat, unless you wanted to see my dogs chase it. Cats are fundamentally sneaky by nature.

I like both but cats have taken over in numbers as most popular pet, probably because they are much more low maintenance than dogs.

I'm not so sure that people love cats better than dogs, you'd actually need statistics for that. Moreover, why would it really matter? Some people like cats, some others dogs, or birds, reptiles, wild animals, all of them, etc. It's just a matter of preference, nothing more or less.

I have no idea, Ive had and have now a cat and let me tell you. She gives me more attitude and is just plain mean.

I also have 3 dogs, I am for sure a dog person :)

my dogs give kisses, cuddle, are happy to see me.. my cat could care less, hates kisses, hates to be hugged and touched. Shes just a plain meany! :(
