yellowing of the mucous membranes is jaundice and is caused by a liver problem. Definitely take your cat to the vet and if offered bloodwork DO IT!! They can save your cat if the problem isn't too far along
Your cats' liver is failing or has shut down completely. There is no reversing this ailment and unfortunately the best thing for your cat is to be humanely put to sleep. Once her skin and flesh are yellow and her body weight drops, her system is full of poison and she is suffering incredibly. I wouldn't be surprised if she passes on her own very soon. She sounds quite distraught.

It happened to my kitty and broke my heart when I put him down. It's liver failure and even if you had a young cat, the outcome isn't promising. You would have to put in a feeding tube or force feed the cat until it started eating on it's own, which is unlikely. Just brush, pet and love your cat tonight and give the last gift you can give them, euthanasia.
