Some cats are just "scaredy cats" and will never get used to it. My mom's 1st cat hides whenever I go over there. I only see her when she is running away to hide somewhere. The 2nd one wants all the attention he can get. It is just a personality thing in cats. Good Luck

Yes, our two cats love having people around the house. We have ten to 12 new people int he house everyday because of the music studio. So if you have people over all the time, you should be fine.

I have the same problem. My kitty is 10 mos old. She is slowly getting used to the fact that others come over. She is always glad when they leave. She likes her little world and having us all to herself.

We try to take her out more in car and on harness. We invite others to come by to force her to get used to it. She now has been petted by a few cat lovers and she sees that they can be nice to. It is all socialization and you can do it. Just spend time getting her used to others in a safe atmosphere.

Usually if there are "new people" in the house on a fairly regular basis they adjust to new smells and all the excitment and wont be as skiddish - so eventually they should adjust. Though some cats, like some people, are just shy and will always go into "hiding" when new people show up. The best thing you can do is (what I have done in the past) is when one person comes over I usually pick up the cat and let the "new person" pet them while I am holding them - the cat gets a sense that you're there so they have a feeling of safety and wont be as nervous with the "new person".
