I used to have a cat and she died, then I became severly allergic, I'd like to have a cat again and will get as many shots as needed but will it all be in vain?

I just saw a news artical today about a hypoallergenic cat, it costs about 4 grand and the waiting list is about a year long.

talk to your doc about putting you on zyrtec, it works great for my boyfriend who has a lot of allergies including cats.

nasonex and zyrtec work for me. I have a lot of cats and this helps me so much. You might ask your doctor about it. Plus get a really good air purifier, and be sure to change the filters in your air and heating system regularly to the arm and hammer ones.

I've had cats all of my life. In the last 5 years, I've become allergic to them. I live on a farm. I have indoor cats, outdoor cats, and indoor/outdoor cats. In other words, I have quite a few cats. In the past 2 years I started taking allergy shots once a week. They didn't seem to do much good.

I'm also allergic to dogs, cedar, mold, and rye grass. I'm surrounded by all. I finally quit taking the shots because I couldn't tell a difference. I live with it all and live with allergies. It isn't fun, but I feel I have no choice. I'm not going to give up all the things I love. But, the allergy shots didn't seem to help at all for me.
