Will my cat be ok
Cat is housebroken, let him out side to potty and 2 large dogs
came into the yard and attched him. We think they only got him a couple times but they were large lab size dogs. Hes in pain thats forsure and when he walks his legs are really far apart but he can work them. He lets me love him and let me pick the grass and such off him. Does anyone know anythings about cats ?? If he can walk does that mean his back is not broken ? Im not a cat person but LOVE this cat !! I dont want to have him put down it would break my heart !!
Is there anything I can check for to tell me if things look good or bad ? Any help would be wonderful cause we dont have much money and I have to make a very big desission right now.
Answers:Usually when its leg is broken they do NOT put any weight on them. So if your cat is i would probably say it should be fine but, if you can keep it in for a few days and watch him closely for any signs of unusual behavior and if he seems sick call the vet. good luck
TAKE HIM TO THE VET! If he's hurt, they might be able to help him but the longer you wait the worse it can be.
you should take him to the vet in the morning to have him checked. cats are very resilent but he could get an infection if the dogs bite him.
When you take an animal into your life, it is like having a child. You make a commitment to care for them.their health, nutrition, safety, etc,. If you really care about your kitty, take him to a vet and have him checked out. He could be suffering internally, and you could help him. The vet might be willing to work out a payment plan for you if it gets expensive. Vets are vets because they love animals, too.
I'm sorry to state the obvious, but your cat needs to see a vet. Many hospitals have payment plans, and you might want to discuss with them that you cannot afford a lot right now, if it comes down to it, they may be able to find a suitable shelter where volunteers and good samaritans sponsor animals in need of health care. Please don't let your cat suffer because you're too proud to ask for help. I've been there and the vets know that times can be tough.
get an electric fence and take him to the vet and try to use a collar also get the name of the dog owners! and talk to them
hmmmm i would reccomend giving him a week. if he is still walking weird take him to the vet. And no they probably wouldnt put him down for somthing like this don't worry. it doesnt seem to serious all though i feel sorry for the poor guy. and i know how you feel about your cat. i love mine too:)
Please, Please find a vet and make payment arrangements. This poor kitty needs to be examine by a vet ASAP. Cats do not feel pain the same as us. I had a cat that had a broken leg and the only way we could tell was he wouldn't walk on it. You and your kitty are in my prayers tonight. God bless.
Check for any sign of open wound first. There is no reason to put your cat down from an injury unless it is life threatening and his life will no longer have meaning. I had a cat that was run over by a car and survived but walked crooked the rest of his long, long life. Take him to your local vet and get an opinion.
oh my goodness..please please please take the kitty to the doctor :(! it's probably not a broken back or spine etc because i would think he wouldn't be able to walk at all. but he could have something dislocated. please post additional info when u know waht's wrong. i have 4 cats adn love them so much and am just so sad right now to hear this! i hope you can get him to an ER for animals. we have one around here.i bet you do too. I know money is tight but sometimes some things warrant a re-prioritizing. ask for payment plan, put it on a credit card. heck..if they can bill you later take that option, even if paying back takes forever. seriously, the pain your little guy must be in must be so great. can you imagine an injury that caused you to walk funny? that crap ain't a joke. my thoughts are with your kitty :( please let him be ok.
