Will my kitten/cat eat my hamster
Will my kitten/cat eat my hamster2007-11-25 12:33:58
I am allowed a kitten/cat for christmas, but i have a hamster in a bar cage. Will the kitten/cat try to attack or eat my hamster? If it will, can anyone give me some tips on how to prevent this from happening?
Answers:yes, if the cat gets the chance to get your hamster he will!! make sure you keep the cage closed at all times and its a good idea to keep the cat outta the room that the hamster is in.
Yes, it WILL try to eat your hamster if given a chance. Keep the hamster in his cage and the cat out of your room (close the doors) and you should be fine.
yup the kitten will be quite interested in your hamster,it won't eat it but will play it to death if it gets to him,so you'll have to put the hamster up somewhere
keep the room with your hamster shut if you are so worried or teach the kitten that the hamster ranks higher then it
My cat ate my hampster whole when I was in high school
Separate rooms at all times.
yeah the cat will try to eat the hamster. you need to keep the hamster somewhere where the cat cant see it. cuz if it does it will do anything to get to it
Depends on how you cook it.
It all depends on the personality of the kitten. If you keep the hamster caged, I'm sure it will be fine. If you're letting your hamster out once in a while, just let it run around your bedroom with your door closed so the cat can't get in. Good luck!
My brother's kids had two hamsters which they let run loose in the house. Then they got a kitten. The hamsters terrorized the kitten until it grew up. One day, it finally discovered that hamsters are good to eat.
probably will destroy the hamster or even eat, it its on a cats nature, but some cats won't it,s hard to tell, you would have to find that out your self to see how good the cat is with the hamster,i done that before and somehow when i was at work my cat got to my hamster, and when i came home there was no hamster in the cage and i fount some little bones on the floor, this really happen.
could be, best bet is to introduce them slowly, keep the hampster in a room that the cat isn't alowed especially when nobody is home. keep a close eye on the interaction
If you get the kitten young enough, you can teach it that the hamster is not food. However, you will still need to make sure that you keep the cage closed at all times when you are not there. And when you do take your hampster out, make sure the cat can't get into the room with you. It's just their nature to hunt rodents, no matter what you teach it.
