Will my kitten/cat eat my hamster2007-11-25 12:33:58

I have raised rats, mice,ferrits and guinea pigs and never lost any of them to a cat. (Though my ferrit almost ate my bird.)

yeah the cat will probably eat your hamster if it gets a chance you could get a plastic cage for the hamster and put it in a room that the cat is not aloud into

Probably, because your hamster will look an awful lot like food to your cat. Don't let the hamster out where your cat can get at him.

Now, sometimes cats will make friends with small critters that would ordinarily be prey. But it's not something you can count on.

they could if you let them out together. I cant have my hamster cage out , he is in a safe area so cats cant get him. He freaks out anyways, well i would too. If you have many rooms in your home, maybe you could put the cage in one room and keep the door shut so they cant get to him. Good luck!

Yes. If not to eat, then just to play with(which could still wind up with your hamster dead). Keep the hamster in it's cage and in your room. Don't let your cat in your room.
