Worms living in the litter tray
I have an indoor cat and just found live small maggot-like worms feeding on a deposit in his litter box and some fungus like spores on other deposits. I have never seen this in 30 years of owning cats. Any clues what this is? Oh yes - I live if far east Asia now.
Answers:it could be that flies have just laid eggs in the tray and they have turned into maggots but you should try and clean the tray out everyday if they continue living in there
call the vet im not sure
Your cat probaly has worms. But im not sure to if there not on him. Take him to a vet or it least call one. Good Luck!
Either you are not keeping the litter clean enough or your cat has worms.
Take the cat to the vet immediately and change that litter.
Well after 30 years you should change the cat box don't you think?
You need to take him to the vets straight away!
I found the same in my rabbits hutch and the vet told me that if the animal is wet in the anal area a fly may lay its eggs there resulting in a maggot infestation.
The maggots feed off your pet and will carry on feeding until the animal is dead.
If you take your cat to the vets early enough, there is very good treatment and she will be fine.
Of course this may not be the case, it could just be worms and these can be easily removed with worming tablets, but I would definetly take her to the vets.
