I'm very sorry. People who don't have pets won't understand why it is one of the most hurtful things in the world to lose a beloved pet. I lost my cat nearly two years ago and I often still think about her and what she'd be doing.

If you can get hold of the book 'Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul', you'll find a very sad but beautiful little poem about pets who have gone over the Rainbow Bridge and how they wait patiently until the day they are reunited with their owners again. It won't make you feel much better but it might give you a bit of assurance that Kitty is in a happy place now.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I wish you could have had her with you longer. People who love cats are very special. It might help if you do something in her memory. I donated some blankets to a humane society when my kitty passed. I also bought myself a ceramic plate with a kitty that looked just like her. I am sure you will think of something.

I know what it's like to loose a pet that's close to you. A last year, I lost my cat, Chester. I was 14 (I'm 15 now) and she was 20. She had been around my whole life. I would recommend getting another cat, once you are ready.

Hey Girly Just take it one day at a time, I know you have probably heard that often but that is all you can do for now. Don't listen to people who say it was ONLY a cat, you know different, KittyS was a member of your family. When you are ready to move on, maybe ask for another cat, it may help ya later on..

I am so sorry about your cat. I had to have my cat put to sleep on Saturday, shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer. As hard as that was for me, at least I knew it was coming. I can't imagine suddenly finding my young cat dead.
