Would it be ok to put them in the kitty cage at night
We just got two new baby kittens today.. 7 weeks old.. they are brother and sister. would it be ok to put them in the kitty cage at night for when we go to bed to ensure that they don't get into anything?
Answers:absolutely. that way, you will know where they are and won't inadvertently step on one of them when you get up in the morning; and they will be safe all night long. One thing, you should line the kitty kennel with lots of newspapers in case they peep or poop during the night.
you can.but do you think the kittens would be happy?
Only if they use to sleep in there, and still cats are rather nocturnal, so it would not be a good place for them for a whole night
Sure.. give them a blanket, a litter pan and water.
Make sure the water is hooked up so that it can't spill.
they will be safe and comfy.
I think that it's a good idea, but maybe they will be meowing the whole night.
You would need to put in food and especially water. If you kitty cage is just a carrier, then it would probably be to small.
As long as the cage is appropriate for kittens. Some cages have the wire spaced too far apart and kittens can get their legs caught, become frightened and end up doing damage to tendons.
Otherwise, it should be safer than roaming the house. Be sure to put some water, a litter box, some toys and a blanket in with them. Don't place the cage too close to hanging electrical cords that they could chew on.
Sure, it's basically the same principle as crating a dog, it becomes their den. Cats tend to be active at night, so make sure that they have toys in the cage, and expect some gymnastics at night. They should have food, water, fleece beds, and a litter box in there, also.
thats what i did for the first week of having my kitten. She didnt have a problem with it. I just kept food and water in there. plus a litter pan and some blakets.. And she was fine. i think its okay if you do that :) just keep the proper things in there.
Well. you could but I wouldnt. When they are little like that you should keep them just to one room and just make sure theres nothing they can get into. (cables on floor..) I kept my cat in my room for a few weeks until it got used to my house and until he got used to me and my boyfriend.. I kept his litter and food and everything in there. then when we was ready I let him out slowly. then everything was good! :)
The best thing to do would be to put them into another room like a bath room or some other room, where they can't get into any trouble and have their litter box in there with them. Also have their water dish there with them.
