Would you ever give up your cats, even if it meant that you cant move into a new house2007-11-25 12:33:23

I have decided to move closer to family members, so that I have help and support with my children. In a lot of places that are available for rent they say no pets allowed.

What would you do?

My cats are my children and to give one of them up would be to give up a family member. It is hard to find a place that allows animals, but don't give up looking. There are always places that will let you keep them. Try looking for a private landlord instead of an apartment complex. My husband and I just had this problem, one of my cats is a bengal and many places would allow my siamese cats, but didn't want me to take my Bengal because they are a hybird of a wild animal. I fimally found a lady who had an apartment for rent and would let me have her and my other 2 cats. it wasn't what I really wanted, it's upstairs and doesn't have AC, but I didn't have to give my baby away either, so I took it.

I did have to once give up a cat, and I'm still heartbroken over it. She was longhaired and my husband was allergic to her. I gave her to my boss though and I see her 5 days a week.

Whatever you do, make sure your cats have a good home, whether it be with you or someone you know. Never give a cat to someone you don't know, like if you were to put them in the paper for free because you'll never know for sure what happened to that cat.

I did the opposite of you, I moved away from my family so i could get more pets.

Just be patient and keep looking. you know you cant give up your cats. how would the children feel.
