Well it only took $30 to fix some of my cats. But I went through the humane society at my local vets office. But anyways, its not about the cost its about the safety. This site looks like they just want to help. Im not sure about the tattoo thing but sounds ok. Call the better business bureau if you have concerns, see if they have had reports. Also go to one of their "clinics" watch the people and cats coming out. If they look ok I would say go right on, save some money. Just make sure your little guy or girl is safe. Plus you can always talk to the doctor first and ask to see the place if it looks dirty or something seems off just say no thanks. If they have a problem with you wanting to ask questions and see things then maybe not such a good place for kitty. If you want too for low cost options check with your local humane societies and shelters they may have other options available. I would ask several question regarding their use of anesthesia, sterilization methods, etc. and find out why they can do this so cheap. Does the doctor volunteer their time? Is the cat monitored during surgery? How soon is the cat sent home after the surgery? Males can go home by the end of the day, females should stay one night.
