Answers:DON'T get your advice for this on here!
Please call your vet.
Many factors are involved. Your pet's age, health, etc.
Not only that, but someone here may prank you and recommend something that might injure or even kill your pet.
Do the right thing and call your vet.

I would call pet meds(1-800-petmeds) and ask them for tranquilizer or sleep inducing pills for travelling pets..
Call the vet. Use only what the vet recommends.
I have two suggestions: Rescue Remedy and Feliway.
Rescue Remedy is found in human health food stores. It's one of the Bachs Floral Essences line. Th best way to administer it to a cat or dog is to rub a small drop inside the ear flap, where it will be absorbed transdermally. Only use a drop or two. This should help the cats and the dog. (And if it doesn't work on them, take a slug yourself and it might help you cope!)
Feliway is a feline pheromone that comes in a dispenser. Get one for your car for the trip. It won't affect the dog but it should help calm the kitties.
Here's a site for otc meds that are safe for most healthy pets. I've used most of them myself over the last 30 years with dogs.
