recurring sore on cats face2007-11-25 12:25:12
my tom cat is 14 yrs old he has this recurring sore on his face it has adischarge like watery blood it isn't affecting his eating it has like two puncture marks
Answers:It sounds like a bite or scratch from another animal. If he was scratched, there could be part of the other cat's fingernail still in his skin. This happened to our cat before - had another's claw through his lip!
If it's not that, he could be making it worse by cleaning it too much. Have you noticed him swipe at it with his paw? In this case, some antibiotic ointment and a lampshade collar may be neccessary until it heals.
Well, the two puncture marks seem to indicate it may be an animal bite; a spider bite would leave two marks, for example, as would a snake bite. You say "recurring" but you don't mention for how long, but my advice is: take him to a vet as soon as possible.
poss needs to go to vet and get it looked at, or it is some kind of insect bite? get vet help
If he is an outside cat, perhaps it is from fights. If not, then could be more serious. ie cancer. Either way, even if just an absess, it should be treated. take him to the vet.
it maybe an insects attack.. it hapens with my cat long ago.
