seriouslyHELP How can i stop my cat2007-11-25 12:25:19

my cat has a BARBIE problem. he will go into my 8 y/o daughter's room, grab a barbie, bring it down stairs and drop it in the toilet, and then go back up for more. he does this all day and night long. in the morning i have to check the toilet before i sit or i'll be pissing on them. my question is how do i get him to stop? i need help.

Are you sure your daughter just doesn't like her barbies? My cousin tried for years to get rid of her Barbies, blaming it on her brother throwing them out the window. I bet she wishes she'd thought of blaming the cat.

Wow, I have never heard of a cat being that ticked at a doll. If it were me, I would call one of those animal trainer people and get their oppinion.

I think your cat is obsessed with Barbie. It could possibly be the smell of the barbie. I have a cat who carries her 'babies' around in her mouth while meowing..another who brings me his 'kills' to share..his foam rubber balls, fake mice, that sort of thing. I think maybe yours is just having fun. It may very well be just a quirk he has. Have you tried shutting the bathroom door, or does he simply yowl until you open it? Does your cat have many of his own toys to play with? If it keeps up, maybe you should consult an animal behavourist, or your local pet hospital.
