shall i get a siamese cat
HI can you help? i have had cats all my life and 2 years ago my 15 year old cat died and i have missed him ever since, My wife does not want another cat especially a siamese. I have been in contact with a breeder and have watched a kitten grow and showed alot of interest in it, i think he is gorgeous. My wife thinks it will wee and poo all over the place, scratch up my leather sofas and scratch my 3陆 year old son. The breeder says the kitten has grown up with kids and is house trained. here is a picture of it --> http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n308/.
My question is, shall i just go ahead and buy it? I get the hump when my wife goes on and on about not wanting it, im having dreams about it and just dont know what to do! help!
Answers:I'm a great fan of Siamese cats; I've had four in my lifetime (I'm 51), and have always enjoyed their talkative nature and independence. I suppose the greater question here is whether this will create a rift between you and your wife. Perhaps if you tell her how much you miss your cat, and how fond of this lovely little kitten you've grown, she can understand a little better. I don't know how long you have been married, but I'm wondering if perhaps she simply doesn't have a lot of experience with cats? As to cleanliness questions, I have literally never known a healthy cat to fail to use a clean litter box, especially if it's in a secluded area; I'm particularly fond of the automatic kind (like "Littermaid") which have become quite reasonably priced since they were first introduced; a good quality cat litter with a pleasant but not overpowering scent is also a huge help. Covering waste is instinctive for a cat (it helps hide their presence from potential predators), so as long as the kitten knows where the box is, and isn't unduly disturbed while using it, I don't see a problem at all. Whatever you decide, best of luck!
what a cute kitty. Make sure that if you decide to get it that she will let you keep it. You wouldnt want it to end up at a shelter. But i think if you really want it she should learn to deal with it and let you get it. Good Luck
if you want to keep your wife don,t get it they are the worst for yowling and keep you awake all night. If the cat is trained properly it will not poo and wee all over the place but it will scratch the house to pieces as all cats do that we know to our cost lol
he's a sure cutie!
