shall i get a siamese cat2007-11-25 12:25:45

Well, he's not gonna potty all over the place UNLESS you litter box train him, when and if you get him, bring him home., and put him in your bed room, put the litter box in there too, show him the litter box, and every five minutes or so after he eats, put him in the litter box again, he WILL TAKE RIGHT TO IT.he might play in the litter at first (just being a kitten) but HE WILL USE it..thats all it takes, now for the scratching furniture, you can buy scratching posts, or get him declawed (I dont recommend declawing, but he starts tearing stuff up I would) scratching your son.nope! he might playing but thats it, these cats are not evil! they will play, if he sticks his little claws out when playing hold his paw and tell him no! your son cannot mistreat the kitten (pullin tail, throwing him) caus eit will cause him to be skittish or become mean.

I think this about wraps it up.I've been a cat owner for the last 10 years, and they are very great animals,a dn a lot smarter than what you truly think they are!

I have a Siamese and he is the most gentle cat ever he is 7 and my kid are 11 and 15 he has never scratched or bit anyone,it's good for little kids to be taught to respect animals, animals in my opinion don't hurt unless they are mistreated,I also have another cat and a Bull mastiff and they all get on together.A large scratching post stops them scratching the furniture. He always uses his litter tray too.The kitten is beautiful what will you call him?
sure if ya like em
he is so cute.my siamese cat died a few months ago and ive had him longer than my daughters been alive and shes 13.i miss him so much.he was such a good kitty.neways i think you should get the kitty.if the breeder says hes trained and your wife doesnt believe it then get the breeder to let you have like an in-home trial with the cat for a few days and see what she thinks.goodluck
Well, you will have a problem if your wife doesn't want it. Unfortunately, cats do scratch. My siamese used to climb my drapes. He also liked to attack my heels, but I loved him and he loved me. If you want the cat and you and your wife can come to an agreement, then got for it and have her front claws removed, but then she will be defenseless outside. You are in a pickle. I think siamese cats have the best of all personalities for cats.
There are always enough problems that two people have in a marriage -- why would you want to aggravate your wife with a kitten?
