better foods dont use fillers so your cat eats way less and poops less.. sure the foods cost more but you save money in the long run
good foods use Chicken Meal or Turkey Meal or Lamb Meal as first ingredient and rice second - NO by-products (beaks feet feathers) ..
if you get rid of her she stands a very slim chance of finding a happy home. very few cats live beyond 2 years due to being sold for research, being lost and replaced. used for bait for illegal fighting dogs, cars. etc, so if you are really loving her you will keep her and work with her.. Ultimately this is a good example for your child - as this IS love.. this IS commitment.. and did you know kids raised with cats/dogs have lower risk of getting asthema?
anyhow.. infairness to you and your cat if you really cannot keep her - give her to the SPCA as they have the best chances of finding a new home for her. good luck

Purina Kitten Chow is LOW QUALTIY FOOD.. read the ingredients list. by-products are cheap filler.. corn is also - cats are carnivours they need really meat as # 1 ingredient - I suggest slowly switching foods to a better one (I dont know your country or would suggest one)
I am assuming she has been to a vet and been checked for worms and other bacteria in her stools?
Wow..this is tough. First of all, you have to think of a sick kitty around a newborn child. Also, I hope you are not cleaning the litter box at all. This can be potentially harmful to you and your unborn child. Anyways, your kitty could have a food allergy or worms. Do not feed milk or a cheap cat food. Dry quality kitty food is of best choice. Is there anyone that she can stay with until your baby is born? This is a really, really hard time for you to have a make a decision like this and I know it'd be so hard if you give her up and then once things are calmed down a little you might really regret it. :(
