should leave the tv on for my kitten when she is at home alone2007-11-25 12:25:46
should I leave my tv on all day for my adopted 7 week old kitten when I leave her at home for 10 hrs a day when I go to work?? also I live in a flat on a highway and Im not sure if I should let her out when she is older. There is other cats in the flat that are outside cats and she is already trying to get out. what shall I do?
Answers:Personally, I would say leaving the tv or a radio on would be good company for the kitten. I would keep her inside; inside cats live longer than outdoor cats b/c it's safer.
Save electricity and leave a radio on instead. As for letting your cat out, don't do it. Cats are much safer indoors. Outdoor dangers include injuries, diseases, cat-napping, death, cars, cruel kids, cruel adults, etc.
I don't think you need to leave the tv on. Kittens can usually have fun with ANYTHING. leave some safe toys for her to play with while you are gone. And i would recommend NOT letting her outside if you live by a highway. That scares me SOO much! She would be at Very high risk to get hit by a car. Try to keep her inside, it is the safest.
Cats don't need a television while you are gone. Make sure she has toys and access to fresh water and food since she is home for such long hours everyday. She'll entertain herself but she could get lonely not having anyone there for that long. I definately would not let her outside. Going outside only opens a whole new can of problems you'd have to deal with ranging from disease and infections from fighting to getting ran over by cars. Better inside and fat than outside and flat!
Yes, put it on Animal Planet.
The TV can be a good source of entertainment for your cat. When I have to leave my dog home alone,I always leave the TV on for him. He loves to watch cartoons!
Leave the TV on if you want to. Although I don't leave it on every day, I do on occasions leave the TV on for my cat. If he's on the bed watching before I take off once in a while, I leave it on for him..yes he watches TV.
