Once your kitty is older you can let him out, but don't leave him out. Let him out when you are home and keep him in while you are out.

Yes, I would leave the TV on. We do for our 2 cats. We set it on Animal Planet!

PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CAT OUT. Even though they'd like it, or think they would, and even though other cats do it, the chances are higher that the cat will get hurt, stick, pick up fleas, get poisoned, stolen, in a fight and more. I forget the actual figures, but outdoor cats do not live as long.

Remember, pets are our babies.

A seven week old kitten should not be alone for 10 hours a day. How much time do you have to give her when you are home? Do you have dates, go out to eat with friends?

You are wise to be apprehensive about letting her go outside. The best thing to do for her and you is to get another kitten right now. Then she will have a companion and a "social" life of her own and not become too dependent on you. A young male cat would be ideal. There will some time you will have to spend overseeing their adjustment to one another and the younger they are the faster and more smoothly the adjustment will go.

I have to admit, I leave the TV on for my cat. His favorite; Animal Planet. Althought, you must remember, cats are nocturnal animals and tend to run all night and sleep most of the day away. I have found though as a cat owner, when I do not leave the TV on for him, he craves my attention more when I come home as opposed to being his normal "independent" cat self when I do leave it on. That judgement call is for you in my opinion.
