If you are living with your father, you really do not have much a choice.

DO NOT bring a cat home thinking 'oh it'll be different once dad sees it!" It will end with the cat in a shelter.

Ask your dad why you are not allowed to have a cat, if it's a responsibility issue, you can try to show you are responsible. If its because he doesn't like cats, or just plain doesn't want a cat, its out of your hands.

show your responsible(believe me it works) by doing things around the house or actually doing the things you suppose to. but if all else fails just volunteer at an animal shelter. you get to work with cats and your dad is proud cause it will look good on your college reseme

Try anything and everything :

Beg, plead, act extremely responsible and earn the cat, negotiate(aka clean room for several weeks consistently) ask mom, anything else you come up with, try the other answers you get

If none of this works, sneak it in. I know I know, its like lying but if you REALLY want the cat do it. And this is ONLY if none of the above worked.

Well that brings back memories when i was younger and i knew my dad wouldnt let me keep a kitten so i hid it in the shed and he'd watch me going through the yard to feed it and finally he decided we needed a cat and i got to keep it!! good luck and just how old are you?

You just kinda have to suffer through it. I am sorry that you can't have the cat or kitten you want. My mother never allowed me to have pets. My cousins who lived just around the corner had a cat and a dog. I felt it was very unfair!
