Open a can of cat food and place in the very back of the cage. Place newspapers on the bottom of the trap. (Some cats are leery of stepping on the metal bars) Set the trap and then cover with an old blanket, towel, whatever, leaving the front slightly uncovered so they can enter the trap easily. Be sure to check the trap at least twice daily. It may take a week or so to catch the little one. Keep trying and make sure to replace the food with fresh daily. When you catch her/him, keep the cage covered until you get to your destination, whether it be at a shelter, or, to your veterinarian. This helps to keep them from panicking. Best of luck to you.
try trapping him in a cage or cat carrier by putting food inside of it when he goes into it to eat shut the door and voila you have your cat
im with the ones that said live trap,but be carefull this is rabies season and since it has been outdoors no telling what is has.
