what happens to wet flea eggs2007-11-25 12:28:16

does anyone know what flea eggs look like after being soaked in hot water? i soaked my kitten's bedding in hot water after discovering some flea eggs there. i rinsed those ones away but soaked it just to be safe. and there were a few little spots of off white jelly. it kind of looked like maybe the eggs expanded with the water and turned all goopy?

1. Flea eggs can remain dormant in carpeting up to 12 years.

2. When we moved, before we put anything in the house, we had it bombed for fleas.

3. If you are not sure if your cat is scratching due to allergies, or fleas, go for the weekend barefoot around your house. If you get bites on your feet, ankles, legs 鈥?you've got fleas.

4. It's a tedious process getting fleas out of your cat, and stressful for them. Once you have flea problems under control, do not let them go out of doors. Make life easy for yourself and your kitty.

5. Check with your vet about those various flea applications to the back of the neck.

sorry but that won't kill the flea eggs. Bleach will kill them. You have to go to petsmart and by a spray or powder to kill the fleas and the eggs. good luck.

hot water will not kill fleas. flea eggs, as far as I'm aware are really not that visible. They leave behind residue, that looks like brown to black poop. (looks like dirt, but usually is gathered in an area where the fleas are)

the only way to get rid of them is to get a spray or powder. and make sure you dip the kitty in a bath.

Frontline spot treatment works GREAT! I use it on my animals and highly recomend it!
