what is the disease
what possible disease could this be?
the cat shakes her head to one side, then she loses her balance..and falls.
it almost seems like the sense of direction is lost, when she tries to move.
there is no visible wound..but the ear seems to be the problem.
also..the eyes and the smell might be comprimised.
basicly.when the cat moves, falls over to one side.loses her direction.
i'm talking about a stray cat, that i'm used to feed every day.
Answers:We had a cat several years ago that had the same problem. We took her to the vet and she had inner ear problems. They gave her some medicine and she was fine after that. It is similar to the inner problems that humans get. Could be she needs just to have her ears cleaned, just like people do. Take her to the vet and he will take care of her.
She may have fleas that are bothering her.You also may want to take her to the vet (if it get worse)
you might want to catch him and take him to vet. It might just be a simple ear infection then again something more serious going on.
Ear Disorder
Head Injury
Sounds like it could be ear infection - if you talk to a vet you may be able to get antibiotics to add to food. Good luck. ~Nise~
It could be an inner ear infection but sounds more like ear mites. See if you can check the cats ears. If the cats ears look really dirty (meaning it looks like black clumps of dirt) then the cat has ear mites. In severe infestations you will need to have a vet examine the cat to make sure that the cats inner ear is not infected. You can treat at home by getting ear mite medicine at any store and use according to directions. It usually says one or two drops per ear. Tilt the cats head to once side and put the drops in and then rub just behind the ear to help the medicine go all the way in. Should clear up in a day or two. If still uncertain you can calla vet or even a vet school and ask them. Good Luck and I hope this info helps.
remember animals have health problem just like us and yes if your ear is having a problem you could lose balance and with the cat head shaking could be something else take the stray to doctor and let them at least try to help the poor cat you will be blessed for doing this this cat is suffering like a animal with a broke leg
maybe a stroke, or an ear infection, or a seizure disorder.best to take the cat to the vet
Lots of good answers here. What leaps to mind is an inner ear infection - this causes loss of balance. But a head injury or epilepsy could cause loss of balance too.
