what should i give my cat when im out of cat food details below2007-11-25 12:28:55

i love my kitty so much, and i hate giving her canned tuna when im out of food because it has so much salt and mecury, i cant just go to the neighboorhood store and but cat food there because i buy her a special kind of cat food that is actually good for her, and i always tell my dad a week before i run out that im low, but he forgets and i cant drive yet (6 months) and i end up giving her tuna >P gross. any ideas on what would be better for her? and i refuse to buy her digusting normal cat food. if you knew what they put in it you would agree (if you loved your cat anyway). thanks :)

If I run out of cat food I feed my cats chicken either boneless leftovers warmed a little and cut into small pieces or I cook a piece of boneless chicken breast on the stove top. I don't give them too much as they'll over eat and become ill. The chicken's pretty good for cats and since it's not canned you don't have to worry about sodium or mercury. Cats also go nuts for turkey but remember to never give them bones and not to give them a lot.

well if u refuse to give her normal cat food & dont want to give her tuna n e more there isnt any other option.unless u want your cat to starve ur gonna have to give her normal cat food ..scraps of people food is alot worse, so .yea.

Not sure, but a suggestion is hide soem of the food when you get it and tell dad you are out before you are out that way you can have your back up stash in case of emergencies. Also, think about buying more than one and that way you can plan ahead!

you should give it leftover meat that you had for supper or lunch possibly breakfast just make shure it has no kind of sauce on it it might make them sick

its a friggen cat.they love that stuff.duh its fish. and why wont you buy her "normal" cat food? you have issues. Cats are supposed to eat cat food. duh.and by the way most cat foods are healthy for cats because why.um lemme guess its cat food made especially for them. and excuse me i love my cat to death so i feed her cat food. you are psychotic just ask the friggen vet duh. that is such a laugh if my vet saw this he'd think you were trying to kill your cat. cats were meant to live outside so they ate mice and lizards before anyone decided that they could be house pets so you think she cant handle some tuna? haha wow and i thought my gram was crazy about her cats

Have you tried cooking anything for her? You can find recipes online. Just print one out and keep in nearby so when you run out of her food, you can whip up a quick, yummy meal for her. Giving her too much tuna can actually disrupt her normal eating patterns also. The tuna has a very strong odor and taste, and when she gets used to that, nothing else is quite as pleasing.
