my kitten doesnt like store bought toys what should i make ?

an old sock filled with catnip, or the tops off of milk jugs (the ring parts are fun for them too). my cat also loves hair ties.

They love to play in paper bags, also Cat-Nip (you can grow your own if you'd like) any thing that will roll - even empty toilet paper cardboard- put some buttons or something in there so it'll make noise and plug up both of the ends and they'll bat that around - or my cat does anyway - or tape or tie some old feather's on the end of a stick and they'll go crazy for that. take a long thin stick, put a piece of twine on it,maybe 12 in. or so , and tie some feathers or strips of rags to the other end and u have a great toy. Or take a ball of yarn and roll it across the floor. u can also try big brown paper grocery bags, mine loves to go diving in them and i rattle the other end and he attacks it. he also likes to dive into our newspaper when we rattle. good luck

Keep in mind that kittens are like toddlers! They will put anything in their mouths! Don't give them anything with tiny parts that they can swallow or chew up and swallow. Do NOT give them anything with buttons or plastic. An old sock with catnip is a good toy. My cats still love a laser pointer. They will chase it for hours, and they can't catch it and injure themselves. Just don't point it in their eyes.
