In Craiglist choose your state then city from the mainpage list and then look for the section "Community" and subsection "Pets" to post your ad. Please consider a small fee rather than free ($15-30) to disuade people who like to take free animals to be used for research, for dog bait training or worse people who like to torture cats. Also consider asking that you would like to conduct doing a home inspection for a few months (once a month for several months) to make sure the cats are being well cared for or not given away again.
Some of the animal shelters may euthanize your cats if they are not rehomed usually within 72 hours, however this only depends on the local shelter itself as each have different holding time requirements and others are an only no-kill shelters.

If I had to give two cats, I would go on petfinder.org and look for a non-profit organization near me that can take them, because you never know who the cats will end up with if they are free (especially around Halloween)!
Just a little heads up on offering cats for adoption.unless your cats are persian, himilayan, or siamese, or Bengal kitties most people won't want anything older than a kitten.
Be prepared for that because sometimes cats can be hard to place.
