In Craiglist choose your state then city from the mainpage list and then look for the section "Community" and subsection "Pets" to post your ad. Please consider a small fee rather than free ($15-30) to disuade people who like to take free animals to be used for research, for dog bait training or worse people who like to torture cats. Also consider asking that you would like to conduct doing a home inspection for a few months (once a month for several months) to make sure the cats are being well cared for or not given away again.

Some of the animal shelters may euthanize your cats if they are not rehomed usually within 72 hours, however this only depends on the local shelter itself as each have different holding time requirements and others are an only no-kill shelters.

u could use Craigs list but there is no way of knowing how reliable these homes would be I would call your local shelter they may be able to help you

Go to petfinder.com, they will list them and suggest you ask a reasonable adoption fee, but you could always negotiate with the new owner, and then donate the money to an ASPCA.

Never list any animal as "free" - there are people who take advantage of free pets to do mean things to. It's nothing new, just last June, two fellas in Pennsylvania answered an ad for a free cat. Once they had the cat they tortured it in their basement and then gave it to their dog to kill. The jerks video taped the whole thing and when the girlfriend of one of the guys showed it to a friend, this friend called the police to report them. They are facing jail time. But can you imagine what that poor cat went through?
