he eats good but he does have a sentive stomach. that the vet. has suggested a special diet for him. when he throws up its not chewed up at all.

Answers:

He might be over eating. Or his stomach may not be able to handle the food you are giving him. Rather than free feed you might want to try smaller more frequent meal times

I have one cat that has done that his whole life and he's 10 now. He does hack up hairballs, but that doesn't seem to be in any way relevant to the other. It hasn't caused a problem with his development or growth.he's 18+ lbs. We've been through all types of food formulas, nothing seems to make a difference.
