whats better dry or wet cat food2007-11-25 12:29:04

I'm getting fustrated because I got plenty of answers saying that dry cat food is not good even if it has good stuff in it that cats are meat eaters and that dry food has too many carbs and that it'll leave them dehydrated. then people say that wet food will give cats the runs and is an occasional treat. I want the best 4 my cat in life and in nutrition. So PLEASE help me with the correct facts on the best way to feed my cat nutrtionally. thanks

I leave dry food out for my 3 cats all day and they get canned food in the mornins and at night and they could not be any happier :)

My vet told my husband and me that wet food and dry food are made out of exactly the same things. It's just the form that is different. He said we should pay close attention to what our cat responds to and build the diet around that.

It doesn not matter if it wet or dry as far as nutirents. It matters on the ingredients and the quality of food (real meat vs. byproducts and protien and such). However dry food is better for the teeth as it scraps and does some cleaning along the gum lines and such

Ask your cat what she prefers put 2 dishes of food in front of her and the one she eats the most that's the one to get.

I give my kitten dry and wet food. :) It depends on what you are giving the cat. I usually add a bit moisture to the food that is really hard and looks as if it can dehydrate, and then keep some things dry so the kitten can work its teeth.
