Do NOT use any OTC meds on your pet. Advantage is great, but is for fleas. Frontline Plus covers ticks (4 varieties) and fleas - all stages. Revolution protects against the American dog tick and fleas PLUS heartworm protection. I would never use Zodiac, Hartz, etc. Seen too many bad reactions and even deaths. Bad stuff.

I don't know about zodiac but I used advantage on my kitties just last week and let me tell you, that stuff worked like a charm! The next day, the fleas were gone and my cats stopped scratching themselves.The stuff is really expensive but it's so worth it.
