i already have a 1 year old cat. im thinking of getting him a playmate.

should i get a kitten or a puppy as a playmate for him?

and why?

A puppy and a 1 year old cat can get along.dont get me wrong.. but if you really want a companion for your cat then a cat is the way to go

ALso you already have the stuff for a cat, and CATS you can leave and they are pretty self sufficient. if you get a puppy that changes things

Dogs need walks. leaving poor kitty behind and so on.. if you go on a trip and cant take dog.. you will have to kennel him or her if there is nobody to watch him and then poor kitty is alone

I love dogs. but I think another cat is a better way to go..

Choose the breed and sex acording to what you already have..
