I would never harm a black cat, but I turn my back to one when it's trying to cross my path. I have OCD and I am very superstitious because of this disease. I love kitties very much, I am just a bit afraid of the black ones when one is walking past me. Silly I know.

For those of us working in shelters it's not a matter of racism against the cats, but carefully screening people who wish to adopt the animal so it doesn't go to some idiot weirdo who wants to cut it up for Satan or Jesus (yes, we've had cases where both Christians and Satanists kill black cats).

If you are having a problem trying to obtain a black cat, especially this close to Halloween, then this is most likely the reason why.

I am not against black cats. But some people get paranoid about the bad luck of them . On halloween the SPCA was against the adoption of cats that are black. Black cats are a symbol of Halloween. They never elaborated why. Even if they did that is paranoid.
